Language & format

Most Iyer families prepare the biodata in Tamil. See the Tamil biodata format.

The one-page structure (in order)

1. Header — the name, and an opening line only if your family uses one.
2. Personal — date & place of birth, height, education, occupation, income.
3. Lineage & astrology — gotram, natchathiram, rasi
4. Family — father's & mother's name and occupation, siblings, native place.
5. Partner expectations — one or two honest lines.
6. Contact — phone/WhatsApp (often a guardian's) and city.

Do's and don'ts

• Do keep it to one clean page — families skim.
• Do add one clear, recent photo.
• Do be honest about height and income — mismatches surface fast.
• Do send families a PDF or link. Keep the Word file for your own edits, because it can look different on other phones.
• Don't forward a screenshot — it blurs on every forward; share a link instead.

Send a link, not a screenshot

Share one WhatsApp link that always looks sharp. It is better than a blurry forwarded screenshot, and you can delete it from My links on the same device, or by emailing us.
